Here at the curious house we have been living in a maximalist world since we first started designing homes. We have always embraced bold styles, by virtue of always selecting elector decor and using those as the vibrant backdrop to an often muted palate. We utilise the bones of the house by putting period features to the fore with paint techniques and furniture placement. Layering textures on our bespoke hard fixtures lets the house sing from the core. Less is always more when you celebrate the right features.

We don’t advocate spending money for the sake of it instead we use our budget wisely making sure your eye is drawn to the right features of a house. This leaves more budget for exceptional detail in the decorative pieces. We always work with an abundance of multi disciplinary artwork. We use fabrics, oils, photography, banners, murals and sculpture. A historic high skirting board can benefit from a hand painted mouse peeping out. A roll top reclaimed bath is enhanced by a bath mat painted onto the floor. A picture window can and should be just that, it should frame your view with a bold contrast colour on the frame.

Let the house do the work for you. Please get in touch if you’d like us to help you maximalist your space. How do we create a maximalist space? We celebrate the bones, we accentuate the unusual and unique. We add form to function and we play with colour and fabric. Welcome to our world
